The Second Chance Shoe Shop by Marcie Steele

Hi everyone 🙂

Hope you are all well and enjoyed my last review.

The book I have recently been reading is “The Second Chance Shoe Shop” by Marcie Steele.

This is the third book I have read by Marcie Steele and I thoroughly enjoyed it.

It follows thirty something Riley Flynn who work’s in Chandler’s shoe shop with her two best friends Sadie and Dan. When Suzanne the owner of Chandler’s comes into the shop and tells the three friends that the shop may have to close, Riley tries her hardest to stop this from happening. But with Riley struggling to deal with some personal issues, Sadie finding it hard to cope with the death of her husband Ross and unlucky in love Dan will they be able to put all that behind them and save Chandler’s from closure?

I really enjoyed reading this book. I loved the way that friendship plays such a huge part throughout the entire story. There was still drama, love interests, romance, heartbreak, heartache and in some parts humour, which made it such a brilliant read.

The storyline was well set and flowed really well and I found it a really easy read.

The chapters where quite short which I like when reading a book as I find that I finish the book a lot quicker, but I think that also has a lot to do with the fact that it was such good writing and a wonderful story.

I loved the characters and how similar they where, but also how different.

Riley is the main character and I found myself instantly connecting with her for some reason. She was a very loveable, caring character and put other peoples feeling and problems before her own as you will find out as you read the book. However I in some parts I did find myself feeling really sorry for her.

There was a number of other characters throughout the book that played a big part in the story. There was Sadie, Dan, Ash, little Esther, Suzanne just to name a few.

It was also full of twist and turns throughout the book and in some parts left you on the edge of your seat wonder what the outcome would be for Chandler’s and what was Riley’s plan to help save the shop.

I also found that once you guessed what might happen there would be another twist in the story and it would turn it completely, which I think added a lot of excitement to the story as well as brilliant writing skills from Marcie.

Overall I really enjoyed reading this book and highly recommend that you read it. Also if you haven’t already I would definitely advise that you read Marcie’s other books as well as they are just as good as this one.

On that note I hope you have enjoyed this review.

Until next time.

Happy reading.
